Ciao wanderlusters! 🌍 When it comes to luxury stays, Casa Baglioni Milan is a name that effortlessly blends Italian art, design, and hospitality. On my recent trip to Milan, I chose the Leonardo Suite as my home base, and it was so much more than just a hotel room, it felt like stepping into a curated Milanese experience. From the moment I entered the lobby, I was struck by how warm yet sophisticated it felt. Every corner whispered thoughtful design and timeless style, making it clear this wasn’t just a place to stay, but a destination of its own. Whether you’re in Milan for culture, shopping, or simply indulgence, Casa Baglioni offers an atmosphere that’s intimate, art-inspired, and truly unforgettable.

First Impressions & Hotel Atmosphere

Casa Baglioni Milan takes inspiration from the art and design of 1960s Milan, embracing geometric shapes, vivid colors, and modern Italian craftsmanship. The moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted by sleek lines, rich textures, and warm tones that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a curated design gallery rather than just another luxury hotel. Lighting by Panzeri, wallpaper by Rubelli, fabrics by Dedar, and fixtures by Zucchetti create an environment where every detail feels intentional. Even the smaller details shine. Colorful glass and handcrafted ceramics from artist Gala Rotelli add vibrant touches throughout the space, giving the property a contemporary yet deeply Italian soul. There’s an immediate sense that this is not a cookie-cutter luxury hotel, but one with personality and purpose.

The Leonardo Suite Experience

The Leonardo Suite was our Milanese home, offering 646 ft² of thoughtfully designed space with a separate living area, sumptuous bedroom, walk-in closet, and marble bathroom with tub. Located on the sixth floor, it provides sweeping views of the Milan skyline, perfect for sipping an Illy espresso in the morning or a glass of complimentary wine at sunset.

What immediately stood out was the balance of luxury and artistry. The living area featured plush seating and bespoke lighting by Panzeri, while the bedroom showcased rich Dedar fabrics and colorful glass accents from Gala Rotelli. Each room felt curated, as though an interior designer had handpicked every piece for comfort and style.

The marble bathroom was another highlight: bright, spacious, and featuring a deep soaking tub, double vanity, and rainfall shower. It was stocked with Acqua di Parma amenities, soft bathrobes, and slippers, creating a spa-like experience without leaving the suite.

Thoughtful touches elevated the stay: a complimentary bottle of wine, nightly turn-down service with artisanal chocolates, and a curated minibar stocked with both local Italian wines and international favorites. The Illy coffee machine meant starting the day with authentic espresso right in the room, and for travelers with pets, knowing the hotel is pet-friendly (for small/medium-sized pets) makes it even more appealing.

Overall, the Leonardo Suite felt like a private Milanese residence: elegant, intimate, and filled with details that made the stay unforgettable.

Dining & Service

Stays at Casa Baglioni include complimentary breakfast at their in-house restaurant, Sadler, an exquisite dining venue overseen by Michelin-starred Chef Claudio Sadler. The breakfast spread was beautifully curated: from freshly baked pastries and Italian cheeses to seasonal fruits and cappuccinos made to perfection. Having a Michelin-starred restaurant within the hotel meant that even the simplest meal felt elevated.

For lunch or dinner, Sadler offers an innovative menu highlighting Italian culinary artistry with a contemporary twist. It’s the perfect place for food lovers who want a fine dining experience without ever leaving the property. The 24-hour room service was equally impressive: efficient, friendly, and always delivered with attention to detail, making it easy to enjoy a quiet meal in the suite after a long day exploring Milan.

The service overall was warm and attentive without feeling intrusive, a hallmark of great hospitality. Staff were quick to offer local tips and ensure every detail of the stay ran smoothly, from check-in to late-night requests.

Room for Improvement

That said, not every interaction met this high standard. While many team members were welcoming, a few lobby staff members gave off an air of exclusivity, those subtle looks that said, “Are you sure you’re staying here?” Sneakers are absolutely fine (quiet luxury anyone?), and yes, I love my sneakers. Guests shouldn’t feel judged based on how they’re dressed, after all, you don’t need to be dressed to the nines to afford a stay here. A friendly smile and warm greeting for every guest, no matter their outfit, would make the overall experience even more exceptional. Maybe loosen up a bit… it’s Milan, not a runway casting call!

The Brera District Location

Casa Baglioni sits in the Brera district, one of Milan’s most vibrant and artistic neighborhoods. Known for its bohemian charm, Brera is home to an array of art galleries, boutique shops, antique stores, and cozy cafes. Wandering through its narrow cobblestone streets feels like walking through a living museum of creativity. It’s also home to the renowned Pinacoteca di Brera, where masterpieces from Italian greats like Caravaggio and Raphael can be admired.

In the evenings, the district transforms into a lively hub perfect for aperitivos, with charming wine bars and outdoor seating spilling onto the streets. Brera’s mix of culture, fashion, and culinary delights made it the ideal base to experience both Milan’s artistic heritage and its modern-day energy. Staying at Casa Baglioni meant I was within walking distance of many must-see spots while still enjoying a peaceful retreat at the end of the day.

Final Thoughts

My stay at Casa Baglioni’s Leonardo Suite was everything I love about boutique luxury travel: stylish design, warm hospitality, and an unbeatable location. It’s perfect for travelers who value art, culture, and comfort and want more than just a place to sleep; it’s an experience in itself.

If you’re planning a trip to Milan and want to elevate your stay, Casa Baglioni is worth every moment. Whether you’re a design lover, an art enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys the finer things in life, you’ll feel right at home.
