Hello, fellow food lovers! 🌟 It’s Bubbly from BubblyLiving, and I’m ecstatic to share my latest culinary adventure aboard the Ruby Princess. This time, I had the pleasure of dining at Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, a specialty Italian restaurant that offers an authentic and delightful Italian dining experience. If you’re a fan of Italian cuisine, you’re in for a treat. Let’s dive into the delicious details!
An Italian Haven at Sea
Sabatini’s exudes an elegant and contemporary ambiance, perfect for a relaxing and indulgent dining experience. The decor is understated and sophisticated, with neutral tones and subtle pops of color. Large windows provide plenty of natural light and beautiful views, adding to the restaurant’s inviting atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every moment of my dining experience was enjoyable.
Starters to Savor
The evening began with the Insalata Mista, a refreshing salad of mixed greens, charred pear, radish, arugula, orange segments, and shaved fennel, all dressed in extra-virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. The combination of flavors was light and invigorating, a perfect start to the meal.

Next, we tried the fried calamari appetizer. Lightly battered and perfectly fried to a golden crisp, the calamari is tender on the inside with a satisfying crunch on the outside. Served with a zesty marinara dipping sauce, it offers a harmonious balance of textures and flavors, making it a crowd-pleaser for seafood lovers.

Delightful Antipasti
For the antipasto, I enjoyed the Chef’s Version Panzanella. This dish featured grilled shrimp, toasted croutons, heirloom tomatoes, basil leaves, Taggiasca olives, and basil-infused extra virgin olive oil. The fresh, vibrant ingredients created a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that was simply delightful.

Perfectly Crafted Primi Piatti
Moving on to the primi piatti, I indulged in the Lobster Tortelloni. These wide, delicate pillows of lobster-filled pasta were simmered in a rich, creamy lobster sauce. Each bite was a luxurious explosion of flavor, with the lobster’s sweetness beautifully complemented by the creamy sauce.

I also sampled the Pappardelle allo Bolognese. This dish featured wide ribbon buckwheat pasta paired with a hearty Nebbiolo wine-braised tomato and meat ragu. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the robust ragu was deeply satisfying.

The Porcini Mushroom Risotto was another highlight. This northern Italian specialty, made with vialone nano rice simmered with shallots, white wine, and rich porcini mushrooms, was finished with shaved parmesan. The creamy risotto was packed with earthy flavors and had a wonderful, silky texture.

Sumptuous Secondi Piatti
For the secondi piatti, I chose the Lasagna Bolognese Ala Forno. This classic dish from Bologna featured fresh pasta sheets layered with bechamel and a long-simmered tomato and meat ragu, baked with aged parmesan. The layers of pasta, sauce, and cheese melded together beautifully, creating a comforting and delicious dish.

The Parmigiana di Melanzane was another excellent choice. Thick slices of breaded eggplant were baked in marinara sauce and finished with sharp parmesan and mild mozzarella. The eggplant was tender and flavorful, and the combination of cheeses added a delightful richness.

Final Thoughts
Dining at Sabatini’s was a delightful journey through the flavors of Italy. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, showcasing the best of Italian cuisine. From the fresh, vibrant starters to the hearty and comforting main courses, every bite was a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and authenticity. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or simply love Italian food, Sabatini’s on the Ruby Princess is a must-visit.
